8-Year-Old Anderson Earns Black Belt

Haddon Rose Anderson of Chariton was awarded her 1st degree Tae Kwon Do black belt at the Humeston ATA (American Taekwondo Association Black Belt Academy) Saturday, May 18.  Ordinarily, this is a most difficult achievement and to make it even more outstanding is that this little "Pocket Rocket" is only eight years old.
Haddon is the daughter of Tom and Jodi Lyn Anderson of Chariton.  Tom is a biology teacher at Chariton High School.
Haddon has two brothers, Will and Lucas, and a sister, Sailor.  Will and Lucas study Tae Kwon Do as well and they are brown and orange belts, respectively.  Will, 13, is in seventh grade and is a brown belt.  Lucas, who is four years old, is already an orange belt.  Their sister, Sailor, is very adept at gymnastics where she competes regularly and has won numerous awards.  Haddon just finished second grade at Columbus Elementary School in Chariton.  This little "ninja princess" is not content to rest at the 1st degree black belt, but plans to work towards the next level of second degree.  She is also striving to improve her athletic skills as a member of the Super Smashers girls softball team.
