Varsity Boys beat Moulton-Udell

At the Centerville Tourney, the Chariton varsity baseball team picked up a couple of wins.  On Friday, June 22, Chariton routed Moulton-Udell, 10-1 and on June 23, they came from behind to beat Centerville, 4-3.  Austin Peterson pitched one inning and gave up no runs and no hits.  Peterson went 1-1 with a single, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI.  Shortstop, Cameron Knust went 1-4 with a single, a run scored and a stolen base.  Catcher Alex Wright went 2-3 with two singles and two RBI's.

CHS Varsity Boys Split Twinbill with Rockets

The Chariton varsity boys split a doubleheader with Eddyville-Blakesburg on the road Monday night.  Chariton had a five-run first inning in the opener and held on to win 9-8.  In the second game, the Rockets took a 2-0 lead after one inning and scored a late run to win the nightcap, 3-2.  With the split, the Chargers moved to 17-8-1 overall.

In the first game Alex Wright was the pitcher.  Wright pitched three innings and gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out none and walking one.

Right fielder, Cameron Knust went 1-3 with a single and two RBI's.

Soccer Awards

The awards from 2011 were also given out as Chariton didn't have a boys' soccer banquet last year.  There are no pictures for these awards.  Russell boys awarded were: Cole Pierschbacher MVP, Cole Pierschbacher Offensive MVP, Cole Pierschbacher All-Conference and Chasen Blue Honorable Mention.
