On Friday, May 10th, the Chariton girls soccer team traveled to Centerville and came  away with a 9-0 win. Chariton scored five goals in the first half and played dynamite defense from start to finish.  With the win the Lady Chargers improved to 6-5 overall.
Forward Luiza Tsygipalo started the scoring for the Lady Chargers when she pounced on a rebound from a shot by Emily Grismore and put it in the net.  That opened the floodgate of scoring for the visitors as they scored four more goals in the next 15 minutes to take a commanding 5-0 lead into intermission.  Cierra Covington, Alexis Curran, Grismore and Kourtney Nichols each scored goals in the fist half.
Chariton's scoring began very quickly in the second half as Covington scored just one minute into the half and then added her third goal of the evening midway through the second half.  Faith Stufflebeem recorded a goal in the 73rd minute to give Chariton an 8-0 lead.  Chariton's attack produced the final goal when Kylie Bengtson took a shot that a Centerville player inadvertently kicked into the goal.
