Class 3A's #6 ranked team, Clarke, hosted the Chariton Lady Chargers at Osceola Monday, June 3rd. Clarke had a strong first inning scoring three runs, which proved to be the difference in a 3-1 win. With the loss Chariton fell to 2-3 overall. With the score still 3-0 heading into the top of the sixth, Chariton scored once but could get no closer. Ellie Bengtson went the distance on the mound and took the loss. In six innings she gave up three runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out four and walking one. She also hit a batter. Chariton had 18 put outs and 17 assists as a team.
