Wednesday, June 12th was the day the Varsity Chargers outscored Clarke in a double header at Osceola. The Charger softball team outscored the Indians, 35-1, in the two games with wins of 19-1 and 16-0. Because of these high scores both games only lasted four innings. Overall the Chargers improved to 11-2.
In the first game the Chargers the team had 12 runs in the top of the first inning. The Indians scored once in the bottom of the second. The Chargers reeled off seven more runs in the top of the fourth to take a 19-1 lead and seal the win.
Brett Braida, the third baseman, went 2-3 with a home run, a single, a run scored and six RBI's. Lucas Heaverlo pitched a no-hitter and got the win. In four innings he gave up one unearned run and no hits while striking out four and walking one.
The Chargers took charge in the second game and brought a 16-0 win, by scoring six runs in the first, four in the third and six in the fourth to clinch the game. Peterson pitched a one-hit shut out on the mound. In four innings he gave up no runs and one hit while striking out seven and walking one.
