Lady Charger Track Team Wins at Late Season Get Together Meet

Lady Charger Track Team Wins Five Events, Places Second Overall at 
Late Season Get Together Meet

  The Chariton girls track team had a banner day at the "Late Season Get Together" at Chariton on Tuesday, May 6th.  The meet was held due to the number of meets that have been cancelled this season.  Chariton had a whopping five first place finishes in the shot put, discus, 3,000 meter run, shuttle hurdle relay and the 400-meter hurdles.  As a team, Chariton finished second out of four teams with 170 points.
  Ottumwa won the meet with 192 points.  Interstate 35 was third with 166 and Martensdale St. Mary's was fourth with 98.
  Emily Seuferer won the shot put with a throw of 33'11".  Saydee Terrell finished second with a throw of 33'½".  Brittany White finished eighth with a throw of 24'8".  Emma Fuhs finished first in the discus with a throw of 96'5".  Carley Arnold finished seventh with a throw of  78'.  Seuferer finished eighth with a throw of 72'9".
  Allison Summerfield won the 3,000 meter run with a time of 13:34.74.  In the shuttle hurdle relay, the team of Maria Blong (17.99),  Terrell (18.35), Tori Bauer (18.84) and Carlie Schaeffer (17.49) placed first in 1:12.99.  Chariton claimed the top two places in the 400 meter hurdles as well as Schaeffer placed first in 1:11.51 and Blong placed second in 1:16.18.
  In the sprint medley relay, the team of Jessica Wiederholt (14.73), Terrell (17.13), Sophia DeMaria (29.93) and Ryley Heffron (1:10.15) placed second in  2:11.15.  In the 4 x 800 relay, the team of Seufferer (3:08.15), Heffron (3:19.23), Alexa Rich (3:21.46) and Micaela Folkerts (3:27.41) placed third in 13:16.24).  In the distance medley relay, the team of Sarah Fuhs (36.43), Laurin Zern (29.13), Heffron (1:14.67) and Mackenzie Curran (3:02.80) placed fourth in 5:22.19.
  In the 4 x 200 relay, the team of Wiederholt (30:43), Terrell (30.50), Sarah Fuhs (34.48) and DeMaria (32.62) placed fourth in 2:98.29.  In the 4 x 100 relay, the team of Wiedersholt (14.26), Sarah Fuhs (15.29), Bauer (15.05) and Blong (13.05) placed fourth in 58:43  In the 4 x 400 relay, the team of DeMaria (1:14.71), Seuferer (1:11.31), Arnold (1:17.51) and Heffron (1:23.52) placed fourth in 5:02.12. 
  In the 1,500 meter run, Summerfield placed third in 6:07.15.  Curran placed fifth in 6:19.48.  In the 100 meter hurdles Schaeffer placed third in 17.26.  Blong placed fourth in 17:45.  In the 100-meter dash, Mackenzie Thomas Clark placed fourth in 14.67.  Danielle Donahue placed fifth in 14.76.  Michelle Sargent finished in 16.82.  Vada Abrahamson finished in 23.03.
  In the 400 meter dash, Micaela Folkerts placed third in 1:14.80.  Kami Nichols placed fifth in 1:20.66.  In the 200 meter dash, Donahue placed sixth in 31.63.  Zena placed seventh in 32.03.  In the 800 meter run, Curran placed fifth in 2:55.67.

In the JV 4 x 200 relay, the team of Donahue (33.71), Katelyn Thorne (31.74), Sargent (36.64) and Arnold (33.76) finished in 2:15.71).  In the JV 4 x 100 relay, the team of Donahue (15.87), Zern (14.18), Nikki VanDeLune (18.68) and Thorne (13.51) finished in 1:12.24).
In the high jump, DeMaria placed fifth with a jump of 4'6".  Sargent placed sixth with a jump of 4'4".  In the long jump Schaeffer placed sixth with a jump of 14' even.  Wiederholt placed seventh with a jump of 13'9½".
