Boys Golf Team Ties for Second at Home Meet

  The Chariton boys golf team hosted a meet with Albia, Clarke and Moravia on April 11th.  In the varsity standings, Chariton tied Clarke for second place with a 189 score.  Albia won the meet with a 177 score and Griffen Osing of Albia was the medalist with a 41.  Moravia finished last with a 275.
Sean Sullenger led Chariton with a 45.  Daric Laing and TJ Hockenson each shot a 47.  Caden Stienhausen shot a 50.  Adam Kaska shot a 52 and Trevor Mark shot a 54.
  In the JV standings, Albia finished first with a 215.  Clarke was second with 239 and Chariton was third with 240.  Riley Walters led the JV squad with a 56 and Conner Altenhofen shot a 58.  Carver Dow shot a 61.  Coleton Pace shot a 65 and Andrew Spinler shot a 66.  Levi Gwinn shot a 68.
  "We didn't play our best at this meet.  We didn't putt with the consistency that we need to.  We also just struggled in general with our short game.  Overall the guys are still showing improvement and are continuing to work to improve," Chariton Head Coach Ben Schooley said.
