Fifteen Chariton High School students attended the 65th annual Iowa Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference. They joined over 700 students from 26 schools. FBLA is the largest business career student organization in the world with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business-related fields.
Members competed in events, attended sessions and participated in electing new state officers. Students placing in the top five in events for Chariton were 2nd - Colby Brackett, Maddie Kaska, Katey Herr, Digital Design & Promotion. 3rd - Colby Brackett, Katey Herr, Maddie Kaska, Public Service Announcement. 3rd - Emily Seuferer, Word Processing. 3rd - Zach Fisher, Who's Who in FBLA. 4th - Emily Seuferer, Client Service. 4th - Brittany White, Healthcare Administration. 4th - Megan Reynolds, Public Speaking II. 5th - Zach Fisher, Public Speaking II. 5th - Emily Seuferer, Who's Who in FBLA. 6th - Madison Briggs, Local Chapter Exhibit. 6th - Sam Lerner, Spreadsheet Applications. 6th - Brittany White, Word Processing.
The Chariton Chapter also received second place in Event Sponsorship. Mrs. Seuferer was recognized for 15 years as an advisor and was named the Iowa FBLA Advisor of the year.
Members who will be representing Iowa at the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn., June 28 - July 2 from the CHS chapter include Colby Brackett, Katey Herr, Maddie Kaska, Emily Seuferer, Megan Reynolds, Madison Briggs, Starr Covington and Ben Morrett.
