The Chariton boys tennis team faced another stellar opponent when they played Saydel at Chariton on May 8th. Ryan Jones almost knocked off Saydel's #1 singles player in the #1 singles match. Chariton's #1 doubles team of Jones and Lucas Hoeger was also in a competitive match before losing. The chargers fell to the Eagles, 9-9.
In the #1 singles match, Jones was in a battle with senior Hunter White before losing 9-7. In the #2 singles match, Nathan Kalsem lost to Jacob Phillipsen, 8-1. In the #3 match, Andrew VanDenTop lost to Joe Smith, 8-1. At #4 Hoeger lost to Evan Andrews, 8-0. In the #5 match, Michael Lawrence fell to Andrew Smith, 8-0. In the #6 match, Caleb Schrodt lost to Max Kays
In the #1 doubles match, the team of Kalsem/VanDenTop lost to the team of White/Phillipsen, 10-0. in the #2 doubles match, the team of Jones/Hoeger won five games before losing to the team of Smith/Smith, 10-5. In the #3 doubles match, the team of Lawrence/Schrodt lost to the team of Kayser/Isaac Matheny, 10-1.
