Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Basketball Games

Varsity Girls Win Their Fifth Straight Game

A 42-37 win at SCC leader Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont knocked E-B into a first place tie with Clarke in the final SCC standings.  With the win Chariton moved to 8-10 overall.  Miranda Davis had a team-high 15 points.  Allyson Showers had 10 points, eight rebounds and one block.  
Chariton started the game down 8-2 but three steals by Alexis Curran helped get them going and propel them to a 16-15 lead after one period. Chariton held a 2-4 point lead for most of the game but E-B pulled ahead by one, 37-36 with four minutes left.  However, Chariton went on a 6-0 run in the final two and a half minutes to get the win.
Alexis Curran had six points and five steals.  Chelsea McGee had six points, nine rebounds and one block.  Emily Grismore had four points.  Emma Fuhs had one point and one block.  Bengtson had five assists and one block.

9th/10th Girls fall to Eddyville on the Road

The Chariton ninth and tenth grade girls fell to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, 46-16, on the road, January 29th.  Chariton trailed 25-5 at halftime and wasn't really able to get going offensively and to shut down Eddyville in the second half.  Sarah Fuhs led Chariton in scoring with eight points to go along with two rebounds.  Maria Blong had five points and one rebound.  Kelsey Carver had two points, two rebounds and one steal.  Delaney Richards had one point, three rebounds, one steal and one block.  Emily Seuferer had five rebounds, one assist and one block.  Carley Arnold had three rebounds and two blocks.  Nikki Vande Lune had two rebounds and one steal.  Jessica Wiederholt had one rebound and three steals.  Meredith Davis had one rebound and one steal.
