The Chargers came from behind in a last second win over Oskaloosa in the first round of 3A District play at Chariton February 18th. Laing's three-pointer, with seconds remaining, was simply amazing.  With Chariton trailing 46-44 with time winding down, freshman Daric Laing got the ball at the top of the key and drained a three-pointer to give Chariton a 47-46 win.  It was celebration time after the game as students, players and cheerleaders alike stormed the court.  Full of jubilation, people raced out and piled on Laing on the court.  He is somewhere on the bottom of the pile here in this picture.  The fans then picked him up and hoisted him in the air as the game's hero.  With the win, Chariton advanced to play Centerville in the second round at Knoxville on February 21st.
Freshman center T.J. Hockenson  (#30 above) led the Chargers in scoring with 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and three steals.  Laing (#4 above) had 10 points and went 1-6 from three-point range but hit the one when it counted the most.  He also had a rebound, a block and five assists.  Bryce Cunningham went 2-3 from three-point range and finished with eight points, three rebounds, one steal and one assist.  Willie Felderman was ferocious on the boards with a team high ten rebounds, five points, one steal and one assist.  Alex Wright had three points, three rebounds, and one steal.  Christian Bengtson had two rebounds and one assist.

They outscored Oskaloosa, 20-9, from that point on to get the win.  The Chargers overcame cold shooting at times and hot three-point shooting by the Indians to battle back and put themselves in position to win.
