Sailor Elaine Anderson of Chariton was definitely
not singing the blues when she competed in the "Meet Me In St. Louis" gymnastic meet on January 11. Competing in Level 7-10 and under division. Anderson earned three medals including seventh place for floor exercises, second place for uneven bars and first place for balance beam.
Anderson also brought home a trophy for second all-around in her division with an impressive score of 36.675 out of 40 possible points.
Anderson is the daughter of Tom and Jodi Lyn Anderson and the sister of Will, Haddon Rose and Lucas. She is in Mrs. Holbrook's fifth grade class at Van Allen Elementary School. Anderson has been involved in gymnastics for more than nine years, training at Triad Gymnastics in Ankeny. The Triad Gymnastics Level 7 team placed third all-around in the St. Louis meet and is currently ranked 73rd nationally.
