Sixth ranked Chariton Varsity Girls soared past Eddyvill-Blakesburg, 6-0, in their final regular season game, Tuesday July 5. The Lady Chargers scored five runs in the first inning and halted an Eddyville scoring threat in the fifth to preserve the shutout victory.
Against Eddyville, Chariton began with a five-run first inning. Seuferer and Bengtson each drew walks. Shortstop Layne Grgurich smacked a double to score Seuferer. Second baseman Presley Swan smacked a single to score Bengtson to make the score 2-0. Miller scored Grgurich and Greubel scored both Swan and Miller. The other run was scored in the top of the fourth. Abbee Curran went 0- 4 with six put-outs. Swan had three assists.
