In the season opener against Newton, the Varsity Chargers got the bats sizzling in a 14-4 win. Chariton pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of 10 walks by Newton pitchers. Five players for Chariton had multi-hit games including, Dalton Stites, Riley Prough, Turner Trenary, Tyler Knust and Dustin Harberts. Tyler Knust went 2-3 with a double, single, two runs scored and a walk. Cameron Knust went 1-3 with a single, two runs scored and a walk.
The JV Team won its opener against Newton with a 5-4 score. Brett Braida and Turner Trenary pitched and combined to give up only four hits. Token Hall was on base three times and scored three runs. Alex Wright had a couple of big hits and two RBI's.
