| Willie Felderman, SCC singles tennis champion |
In Knoxville Monday night the 6th, Willie Felderman soared above the competition by winning the singles title at the South Central Conference tennis tournament. Felderman breezed through all of his opponents including a win over defending conference champion, Mike Runyan of Centerville in the finals. Along with winning the boys single title, Felderman also made first team all-conference. Felderman received a fist round bye then faced Sam Johnson of Davis County whom he blanked, 10-0. In the third round he knocked off an excellent player in Hobie Hein of Albia, 10-1, to advance to the finals. In the finals he played a very exciting match against Runyan of Centerville and beat him, 10-5, to win the title.
