Hall places 4th in long jump, Bengtson 5th in 400 and 800
A number of Chargers recorded personal best times at the 2A District track meet at Winterset on May 9th. Even though the Chargers didn't qualify anyone for state, they finished the season strong with season best times in their last meet.
Chariton had three top five finishes at the meet, including in the long jump where Token Hall placed fourth with a jump of 19'5½" Christian Bengtson finished fifth in both the 400 and 800. In the 400, Bengtson finished fifth with a personal best time of 55.10. In the 800, Bengtson finished fifth with a time of 2:08.44. In the 1,600 meters, both Luis Ortiz and Caleb Allen ran their best times of the year. Ortiz finished 12th with a time of 5:26.61 and Allen finished 14th with a time of 5:37.67. In the 1,200 meters, Luke Evans ran his best time of the year, finishing 12th with a time of 12:02.19. In the 110 meter hurdles, Ethan Schreck ran his best time of the year, finishing 9th with a time of 17.66.
In the 400 meter hurdles, Aaron Cain finished 12th with a time of 1:07.29. Tyler Nance finished 13th with a time of 1:07.42. In the 100 meter dash, Dillon Sanders placed 8th with a time of 11.9. Chasen Blue placed 9th with a time of 12.1. In the 200 meter dash, Brett Braida placed 9th in 25.39 and Chase Altenhofen placed 10th in 25.41.
