Second in Shuttle Hurdle Relay, Sprint Medley Relay and Shot Put
The Chariton seventh grade boys track team scored a number of high finishes at the South Central Conference middle school meet at Centerville May 7.
The Chargers had three second place finishes in the shuttle hurdle relay, sprint medley relay and shot put and a third place finish in the 4 x 200 relay. As a team, Chariton placed sixth overall with 38 points.
The Charger shuttle hurdle relay team of Dylan Stites, Tyler Anderson, Hunter Parker and Gideon Plank placed second overall in 1:27. The sprint medley relay team of Anderson, Stites, Will Exline and Plank placed second overall as well in 2:24.
In the shot put Hunter Neer placed second overall with a throw of 30'8". Connor Bregar placed fifth with a throw of 23'6". In the discus, Neer placed fourth with a throw of 83'5".
In the 4 x 200 relay, the team of Will Anderson, Hunter Parker, Plank and Exline placed third overall in 2:25. In the 800 meter run, Exline placed fourth in 2:58.
There were only 10 seventh graders participating in the SCC meet. Due to the weather, they were only able to participate in four of the seven scheduled track meets.
