Chariton High School CHS senior Stephen McCurdy signed a letter of intent to play football at William Penn University in Oskaloosa.  He is the son of Mike and Terri McCurdy.

Both of McCurdy's parents were present for the letter signing along with his grandparents, Bob and Sharon McCurdy.  Bob played football for William Penn and graduated there in 1957.
McCurdy was a running back for the Chargers this past season.  William Penn Offensive Coordinator Chris Stutzriem was present and told why they decided to recruit McCudry.  "He's an awesome young man.  He's also got power and great speed and it's always good to get another local kid," Stutziem said.
William Penn's Head Coach is Todd Hafner and their record was 6-5 last season.  They are an NAIA school and a member of the Mid-States Conference.
McCurdy said he will major in Criminal Justice at William Penn.
