The freshman girls competed at the Eddyville Round Robin Tournament September 17th. In their first match against Albia, Chariton lost 2-0 with the scores being 11-21 and 12-21.
In their second match against Clarke, Chariton lost 2-1. The Chargers won the first game, 2-18. They fell in a close second game, 16-21, but lost the deciding game, 5-6.
In their third match against Centerville, Chariton lost 2-0 The scores of the match were 16-21 and 11-21.
"The girls started off slow, but improved as the night went along. They really came together as a team as injuries throughout the night made us adjust to several changes. I was impressed with the whole team effort and how the team stepped up to the challenge," Chariton Freshman Head Coach Shannon Page said.
