The Chariton varsity girls basketball team showed great improvement in a 64-40 loss to ranked and two-time defending SCC champion Clarke at Chariton Monday night. The Lady Chargers started out strong and trailed by just three after one period but a key switch by Clarke defensively in the second quarter along with their superior talent helped lift them to a convincing victory. With the loss the Chartion girls are now 0-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
