Wright Scores 19 in JV Game at Grinnell

It was a tale of two halves for the Chariton JV boys in a 52-48 loss at Grinnell on January 14.  The JV Chargers dominated the first half and led 31-16 at halftime.  However, the Chargers weren't as strong defensively in the second half and couldn't quite hold on for the win.  With the loss the JV Chargers moved to 5-5 overall.
Alex Wright had a very good game offensively with a team-high 19 points along with three rebounds.  The JV Chargers played very well at both ends at the start and built a 19-7 lead after one period.  They continued to be solid on the defensive end outscoring the Tigers 9-7 in the second period to take a 31-16 lead into halftime.
The Tigers came out strong and reversed the trend by outscoring the Chargers 20-4 in the third to take a 36-35 lead heading into the fourth period.   Austin Peterson had four points, three rebounds and two assists.  Conner Altenhofen had two points, two rebounds and a block.  Alec Reynolds had two rebounds and two assists.
