Seven Chargers named to all-conference.

Seven Chargers named to all-conference, four named to 2011 Iowa High School Baseball Coaches All-District team.

After their 30-win season in which they came within one game of state, the Chariton Charger varsity baseball squad kept receiving awards.  All-conference recognition for their outstanding play in the very tough South Central Conference went to seven players.

Three Chargers were named to first team All-SCC including senior catcher Jacob Kaska, senior second baseman Riley Prough and junior outfielder, Cameron Knust.

Three Chargers, Cameron Knust, Tyler Knust and Turner Trenary, were selected to 2nd team All-District.

Cameron Knust was selected as an outfielder and finished the season with a team-leading .436 batting average.  As the lead-off hitter he also knocked in 22 runs and had an on base percentage of .487 while playing a great left field all year for the Chargers.

Tyler Knust was selected as a third baseman.  He finished the season with a .301 batting average and 33 RBI's, which was second most on the team.

Tyler also played a solid third base all year.  He and Cameron were tied for most triples on the team with five apiece.
