Seuferer Places Second in Shot Put, Fuhs Third in Discus at PCM Meet

  Top five finishes in five events was the main highlight of the day for the Chariton girls track team, at the PCM Relays April 8.  The Lady Chargers finished in the top five in the shot put, discus, long jump, shuttle hurdle relay and the 4 x 200 relay.  As a team, Chariton placed eighth overall out of 10 teams with 53 points.

Emily Seuferer placed second overall in the shot put with a throw of 33'5".  Saydee Terrell placed fourth overall with a throw of 31'8".  Emma Fuhs had a throw of 27'7".  In the discuss, Fuhs placed third overall with a throw of 91'4".  Seuferer was seventh with a throw of 82'8".  Carley Arnold had a throw of 78'5".  Jessica Wiederholt placed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 14'3".  Carlie Schaeffer had a jump of 12'7.75".

  In the shuttle relay, the team of Maria Blong (18.84), Terrell (18.06), Tori Bauer (19.8) and Schaeffer (18.39) placed third in a time of 1:14.84.  The 4 x 200 A team of Wiederholt (30.4), Terrell (31.25), Sophia DeMaria (31.4), and Alyson Showers (30.29) placed fifth in 2:03.21.  The 4 x 200 B relay team of Sarah Fuhs (33.76), Arnold (36.11), Bauer (31.66) and Laurin Zern (32.7) finished in 2:14.43.

  In the 4 x 400 relay, the team of DeMaria (1:19.56), Ryley Heffron (1:13.63), Seuferer (1:17.34) and Arnold (1:18.48) placed seventh in 5:08.62.  In the 4 x 800 relay, the team of Seuferer (3:04.18), Heffron (3:20.5), Summerfield (3:10.39) and Ashley Batty (3:37.48) placed eight in 13:02.5.

     In the 100-meter dash, Wiederholt placed eighth in 14.13.  Mackinzie Thomas-Clark finished in 14.84.  In the 400 meter hurdles, Carlie Schaeffer placed fourth in 1:18.02.  Blong placed sixth in 1:22.08.  In the 100 meter hurdles, Blong placed fifth in 17.25 and Schaeffer placed eighth in 17.58.

  In the distance medley relay, the team of Sarah Fuhs (33), Arnold (35.39), Heffron (1:44.22) and Mackenzie Curran (2:59.66) finished in 5:21.74.  In the 400 meter dash, Katelyn Thorne finished in 1:23.82.  Katelyn Stewart finished in 1:29.10.

  In the 800 meter run, Batty finished in 3:20.45.  In the 200 meter dash, Showers finished in 31.34.  DeMaria finished in 32.04.  In the sprint medley relay, the team of Wiederholt (14.75), Terrell (14.52), DeMaria (32.66) and Showers (1:17.25) finished in 2:19.  In the 4 x 100 A relay, the team of Thomas-Clark (15:08), Sarah Fuhs (15.76), Bauer (14.94) and Blong (15.11) finished in 1:00.87.

  In the 4 x 100 B relay, the team of Danielle Donahue (15.75), Zern (15.31), Stewart (16.66) Thorne (16.67) finished in 1:04.39.  In the 1,500 meter run, Summerfield finished in 6:13.21.

  PCM won the meet with 186 points.  North Polk was second with 87.  Pella Christian was third with 82 and Colfax-Mingo was fourth with 74.  Knoxville was fifth with 72.  Bondurant-Farrar was sixth with 63.  Lineville-Sully was seventh with 59.  North Mahaska was ninth with 37.  Pleasantville was 10th with six.
