The Chariton girls track team competed at the Centerville Relays on April 10th. Chariton had second place finishes in the shuttle hurtle relay and the 400 meter hurdles. As a team, Chariton placed seventh out of 12 teams with 26 points.
In the shuttle hurdle relay, the team of Maria Blong (18.76), Saydee Terrell (17.92), Tori Bauer (19.57) and Carlie Schaeffer (17.53) placed second in 1:14.2. In the 400 meter hurdles, Schaeffer placed second in 1:13.3. Blong finished in 1:21.45.
In the shot put, Emily Seuferer placed fourth with a throw of 32'6". Terrell finished with a throw of 29' even. In the discus Emma Fuhs had a throw of 86'2". Seuferer had a throw of 66'11". In the high jump, Allyson Showers had a jump of 4'6". In the long jump. Schaeffer had a jump of 13'1½". Jessica Wiederholt had a jump of 12'7".
In the 4x800 relay, the team of Ryley Heffron (3:05.34), Ashley Batty (3:22.64), Mackenzie Curran (3:00.55) and Kami Nichols (3:45.16) placed fifth in 13:13.6. In the spring medley relay, the team of Wiederholt (14.84), Terrell (14.19), Showers (30.19) and Sophia DeMaria (1:12.14) placed fifth in 2:11.7. In the 4x200 relay, the team of Wiederholt (30.62), Terrell (30.66), DeMaria (30.52) and Showers (30.77) placed sixth in 2:02.3).
In the 4x400 relay the team of Heffron (1:13.64), Seuferer (1:10.68), Carley Arnold (1:16.75) and DeMaria (1:15.27) placed sixth in 4:56.3. In the 4x100 relay, the team of Mackinzie Thomas-Clark (14.97), Laurin Zern (15.22), Bauer (14.91) and Sarah Fuhs (15.32) finished in 1:00.37.
In the 3,000 meter run, Allison Summerfield finished in 14:30.2. In the 100 meter dash, Wiederholt finished in 14.47. Thomas-Clark finished in 15.09. In the distance medley relay, the team of Zern (33.33), Fuhs (33.41), Heffron (1:15.83) and Seuferer (3:08.73) finished in 5:31.31. In the 400 meter dash, Danielle Donahue finished in 1:16.68. Katelyn Thorne finished in 1:21.36.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Schaeffer finished in 17.6. Blong finished in 18.03. In the 800 meter run, Curran finished in 2:55.8.
In the 200 meter dash, Donahue finished in 32.16. Stewart finished in 35.6. In the 1,500 meter run, Batty finished in 6:49.97.
Mount Pleasant won the girls team standings with 197 points. Davis County was second with 110 and Wayne was third with 74. Knoxville was fourth with 39 and Centerville was fifth with 31. Keokuk was sixth with 30. Central Decatur was eighth with 15. Scotland Co. (Mo.) was ninth with 13. Moravia and Putnam Co. (Mo.) tied for 10th with eight. Seymour was 11th with four. Newton-Harris was 12th with three.
