JV Boys Outlast Albia in Nail-biting Thriller

A strong second and third quarter by the Chariton JV Boys helped them win a nail-bitter against Albia, 36-35, at Chariton December 13th.
Trailing by one with time winding down, Albia took a five-foot shot but was unable to hit it.  Quintin Storm grabbed the rebound and the Chargers came away victorious.  Storm had a double-double for Chariton with a team-high 14 points, 10 rebounds, one block one steal and one assist.
Albia led 10-8 after one period.  The Chargers outscored the Blue Demons, 11-6, in the second to lead 19-16 at halftime.  Chariton outscored Albia 11-4 in the third to lead 30-20 heading into the final period.  Albia rallied with 15 points in the fourth and outscored the Chargers 15-6 but were not able to hit the game-winning shot.
For the game, Chariton shot 16-41, 39 percent, from inside the arc and 1-2, 50 percent, from three point range.  The Chargers struggled at the line going 2-10, 20 percent.  Chariton pulled down 27 rebounds including 12 offensive boards.  The Chargers committed 14 turnovers and 10 fouls.  Chariton had 12 assists, 12 steals and three blocks.
Aaron Cain had seven points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.  Chase Altenhofen had six points, three rebounds and a steal.  Spencer Sherrick had four points, one rebound and one steal.  Rodygin had three points, six assists, one rebound and two steals.
Bradley Krutsinger had two points, six rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block.  Sawyer Dow had one point, one steal, one assist and one block.
