Tanna Seuferer propelled the Chariton Varsity Girls to a 6-2 win over Centerville in their 3A Region 7 quarterfinal game in Chariton Saturday Night July 10. Two huge hits by Tanna made the win possible. Abbee Curran scored after Seuferer belted a three-run double to the fence. In the first inning, second baseman Presley Swan popped out and Curran grounded out to end the inning and keep the score 0-0. It wasn't until the fourth inning that another runner could get on base when Grgurich hit a lead off double. Swan laid down a nice bunt and the throw made to first on the play got past the first baseman. This enabled Swan to advance to third and Grgurich to score to give Chariton a 1-0 lead. Curran was up next and laid down a nice sacrifice bunt that scored Swan to give Chariton a 2-0 lead. Curran began the top of the sixth with a base hit. Miller followed with a sacrifice bunt that advanced Curran to second. Curran later stole third. Seuferer cleared the bases with a double that went to the wall. Three runners, Curran, Davis and Grismore scored to give Chariton a 6-2 lead. Chariton had eight hits as a team Abbee Curran went 2-3 with two singles, a run scored, an RBI and a sacrifice. Presley Swan went 0-4 with a run scored and an RBI. She also reached base on an error. Swan had one put-out and one assist.
