Girls cross country team to be young this season
The Chariton girls cross country team will have a lot of new faces along with several quality returning runners this season. Chariton has 12 girls out for cross country this year and their coach is Tom Anderson.
Chariton returns two varsity runners from last year including sophomore Abbie Schultz and senior Raven Terrell. Schultz was the team's number two runner last year and Terrell was the team's number five runner. Both were letter winners last year as well. Also returning again is senior Renae Beard, who is back out after deciding not to go out last season. Beard lettered in both her freshman and sophomore seasons and was a top five varsity runner in both seasons. She will likely be a key contributor this season. Last year, Chariton placed fourth at the conference meet. Of their returning runners, Schultz finished the highest for them by placing 23rd at the SCC meet.
