Girls Varsity Huge Win In Overtime!
For the first time in history, Coach Lee Sandy has two girls with double-double in a game
64-61 win over Central Decatur gave the Chariton girls a huge win. The Cardinals entered the game with a 13-2 on the season. On January 21 the Cardinals knocked off the #1 team in Class 1A, Bedford, by 10 points. Bedford played for the state title last season and returned four starters from a year ago.
Chariton also made history in this game as both Miranda Davis and Chelsea McGee each had double-doubles. It's the first time Coach Lee Sandy has ever had two girls have double-doubles in the same game. Davis had a great line with 23 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four assists. McGee had 13 points, 10 rebounds and one block. Alexis Curran also had a strong game with 12 points, four assists and four steals. Starter Kylie Bengston didn't play in this game due to a sprained ankle she suffered in the Knoxville game two nights before. Emma Fuhs had seven points and one block. Allyson Showers had six points and one block. Emily Grismore had two points and Leah Dow had one.
