Lady Charger Golfers second at Pleasantville
The Chariton girls golf team traveled to Pleasantville for a quadrangular meet with Pleasantville, Davis County and Eddyville-Blakesburg on April 12. The Lady Chargers played well, with four golfers scoring between 52 and 57. Chariton finished second at the meet with a 220 score. Pleasantville won the meet with a score of 192. Leah Dow led Chariton with a 52. Elyssa Black shot a 68. Leah played her best round of the year and the rest of the girls had a rough hole or two but rebounded well on others.
Charger Golfers 3rd at Home
The Chariton boys golf team hosted Pleasantville and Centerville in a home meet April 16th. Centerville won the meet with a 165 score and Pleasantville was second with 184. Chariton shot a 191. Alex Wright led Chariton with a 46. Cameron Knust shot a 47. Austin Peterson shot a 49. Sawyer Dow shot a 48.

Charger Boys Soccer Team beats PCM
The Chariton Varsity boys' soccer team moved to 2-0 with a thrilling 4-3 victory over PCM at Reynolds Field. The score was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation and after two overtimes, This forced a shootout to be decided by penalty kicks and the Chargers won the shootout, 4-2, to win the match. Cole Pierschbacher sent a pass through the Mustang defense, which Shawn Kearney ran on to and sent it into the back corner of the net. The Chargers answered again when Cole Pierschbacher was able to get through the PCM defense and score, making it 2-2. Caleb Olson broke down the left side and sent a great cross into Pierschbacher, which he sent by the PCm goalie to tie the score at 3-3. In the shootout, Pierschbacher put the ball past the goalie to give Chariton a 2-1 lead.
CHS Boys Soccer Team Moves to 5-0
The Chariton varsity boys' soccer team moved to 5-0 with a 2-0 win over Knoxville at Chariton. The Chargers scored both goals in the first 15 minutes and their defense stepped up to post their second shutout of the season. Cole Pierschbacher scored on a penalty kick that was given because Chasen Blue was taken down. Asa St. Lawrence sent a great ball across the goal and Chasen Blue headed the ball into the net to give the Chargers their second goal.
Chariton Boys win Championship at Nodaway Valley
The Chariton varsity boys soccer team kept up their stellar play in winning the championship at the Nodaway Valley Tournament. The Chargers won both matches they played beating West Central Valley Stuart, 3-1 and beating Nodaway Valley, 5-2. It was the first time Chariton had won the Nodaway Valley Tournament since 2006.

Cole Pierschbacher sent the ball across the goal and the keeper knocked it down, but Caleb Olson was there to put it into the net to give Chariton a 1-0 lead. Chariton add two more goals in the second half. Olson sent a nice cross and Chsen Blue went over the top of the nearest defender putting the ball in the back of the net.
Chariton 5 - Nodaway Valley 2
In the championship game, Chariton used a barrage of three goals in three minutes to help them get the win. Pierschbacher started the scoring on a really nice assist by Austin Burlin. Pierschbacher was able to break in behind the defense because of this nice pass and he put the ball past the goalie in the 23rd minute. Chariton scored its next goal just a minute later when Chasen Blue sent a nice ball across and Shawn Kearney was right there to knock it in the back of the net in the 24th minute to give Chariton a 2-0 lead. One minute later, Kearney returned the favor to Blue when he sent a nice ball across that Blue trapped and kicked into the left corner of the goal. Pierschbacher scored his second goal of the game when he got the ball at midfield and dribbled through the defense to score a break away in the 50th minute to give Chariton a 4-0 lead. In the last seconds, Chariton scored one more goal to make the score 5-2.

Boys Golf Team Third at Clarke
Alex Wright shot a 45 for Chariton. Cameron Knust shot a 46. The conditions were kind of tough with it being cool and breezy. The boys had never played this course before.
Lindsey White Named to Dean's List
Lindsey White, of Russell, a current 5th Trimester student in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa has been named to the Dean's List for the 4th Trimester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 in all studies for the respective term. The highest possible GPA is a 4.00.
Boys Golf Team 3rd at Davis Co.
The team traveled to Davis County for a golf meet with Davis County and Mt. Pleasant. The Chargers placed third out of the three teams with a 187 score. Alex Wright and Dylan Runyan each led Chariton with each shooting a 44. Austin Peterson shot a 49 and Cameron Knust shot a 50. Sawyer Dow shot a 54.
Girl Golfers 3rd at Osky
Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa was the site for the quad meet. The Chariton Girls golf team competed and placed third overall with a score of 226.Three of Chariton's players shot in the 50's. Leah Dow shot a 62. Elyssa Black shot a 65. Their coach J.J. Stout was very happy with the way they played.
