The Chariton boys soccer team suffered two disappointing losses at the Nodaway Valley Tournament April 9. In the first game, Nodaway Valley scored first and Cole Pierschbacher scored on a penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1. The Wolverines scored another goal late in the first half to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. Nodaway added two more goals in the second half to come out on top, 4-1.
In the second game, Chariton played in the consolation side of the bracket against Clarinda Academy. The first half was high scoring with the Eagles opening a 6-3 halftime lead. The Chargers battled hard and scored the first goal in the second half to cut the lead to 6-4. The Eagles won, 8-4. Chasen Blue scored the second goal of his young career off a nice assist from Pierschbacher. After the tournament, the Chargers had an overall season record of 1-3.
