The Chariton varsity girls suffered a close loss to I-35 in their season opener at Chariton. The Lady Chargers overcame an early 11-0 deficit to take a seven-point lead but couldn't quite hit enough shots down the stretch to pull out the win. Allyson Showers had seven points, three steals and one block. Emily Grismore and Leah Dow had two points apiece. Kylie Bengtson had four assists and one block. Alexis Curran had one block.
