The Chariton Varsity boys kept up their hot play with a doubleheader sweep of archrival Albia at Albia. The Chargers jumped out to a big early lead in the first game en route to a 15-8 victory. They also had an eight-run fifth inning.
Center fielder Cameron Knust went 4-4 at the plate with a double, triple, two singles, four runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base. Catcher Alex Wright went 1-4 with a single and an RBI.
Chariton scored 15 runs on 16 hits, which included a home run by second baseman, Austin Peterson. Peterson went 2-3 with a single, a home run, three runs scored, six RBIs and a walk.
