The Chariton varsity boys split a doubleheader with Eddyville-Blakesburg on the road Monday night. Chariton had a five-run first inning in the opener and held on to win 9-8. In the second game, the Rockets took a 2-0 lead after one inning and scored a late run to win the nightcap, 3-2. With the split, the Chargers moved to 17-8-1 overall.
In the first game Alex Wright was the pitcher. Wright pitched three innings and gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out none and walking one.
Right fielder, Cameron Knust went 1-3 with a single and two RBI's.
