In an exciting, action packed game, the Chariton Varsity Boys lost a thriller to Davis County, 64-61 at Chariton High School. The game was deadlocked at halftime and a slow start by Chariton in the second half hurt their chances of coming out with the victory.
The game was back and forth in the first half and kept the fans on the edge of their seat with non-stop action. Davis County held an 18-15 lead after one period but Chariton outscored the Mustangs in the second to tie the game at 33 apiece at halftime.
Chariton came out slowly in the second half and got down by about seven and couldn't recover. The Mustangs led 54-50 after three periods. The fourth quarter was nip and tuck all the way and Chariton had a couple of open looks to tie it at the end of the game but they just didn't go down.
Cole Pierschbacher had two points, four rebounds and a steal. Alex Wright had two points, one rebound and two steals.
