Charger and Creston Season Opener, Loss to Chargers

Big plays dominate the defensive line and lift Creston over the Chargers in season opener.  Three big pass plays for scores along with a strong defense and the inexperience of the Chargers gave Creston the win.  30-7.  Ronny Christensen, who was making his first varsity start at linebacker, played real well at defensive end for a sophomore.  Christensen finished with two solo tackles, 10 assists, one sack and one tackle for the loss.  Alex Wright, set up a third and seven at the 26 yard line.  Blake Paige knocked Juwan Parris out of bounds.  Brendan Laing had a four yard gain.  Bengtson completed a 12 yard pass to Paige to the 22 yard line with 1:35 left.  Laing had gains of five and two yards to set up a third and three at the 15.  Chasen Blue's extra point was good to make the score, 30-7, with 19 seconds left.  Paige had two solos, two assists.  Cody Carroll had 1 solo, 2 assists, 1 pressure and 1 tackle for the loss.  Wright had 1 solo, and 4 assists.
